Premeno has its own, very friendly, tennis club (the oldest in Italy!) and a beautiful golf course (9 holes) only 2km up the mountain at Pian de Sole. The lakes are very accessible as are around seven ski resorts (within 1 ½ hours). For example the Funivia up to Mottarone, a tourist attraction and a ski resort is 30 minutes from the house. The Matterhorn at Zermat is a 2 ½ hour drive. Milan (Centro) is approx. 1 ½ hours.

There are many lovely towns and villages and lakes and islands and mountains in Piemonte and in Lombardia and many are within an hour or two’s drive. Lake Como, for example, is within easy striking distance.

The surrounding country side is ideal for walking and mountain biking, and serious climbing if you are up for it, with many mapped out routes. There are many restaurants, of all types and price ranges, in the area around Premeno and down into Verbania.
